Real estate photographer in Repentigny: riverfront, family homes and the drone that makes the difference
Repentigny, Le Gardeur, Charlemagne: how to photograph a property by area, why the riverfront sells from above, and the prices with no travel fee, 20 minutes from our studio.
Repentigny is twenty minutes from our starting point in eastern Montreal, and one of the cities we know best. A family market, houses from the 1970s to 2000s, an exceptional riverfront, and one area, Le Gardeur, still growing. Here is how we photograph it, area by area.

The riverfront: Boulevard de l'Assomption and the waterfront streets
Repentigny's number one argument: the properties on the St. Lawrence River, with a view, sometimes a dock. A facade photo shows none of that. The view is photographed from the deck and from inside (windows open onto the river, in HDR so the water is not blown out), and the relationship between the house and the river is photographed from above. On these mandates the drone is not an extra: it is the first photo of the listing.
A real twilight photo is justified on waterfront properties: the reflection of the lights on the water is what retouching imitates least well. We compare the two options in our article on twilight photos.

The centre and the established neighbourhoods: the 1970s to 1990s family home
The bulk of the stock: bungalows, cottages and split-levels of 1,400 to 2,200 sq ft, with a finished basement, a backyard and often an above-ground or in-ground pool. Buyers are families and first-time buyers comparing with Terrebonne and Mascouche.
Split-levels are a Repentigny classic: three or four half-levels that photos never explain well. The $100 2D plan is almost mandatory on that layout. For the rest, the standard session: 35 to 40 photos, exterior from three angles, basement, garage, yard.
Typical package: regular house $250, 2D plan $100, drone $110 if the yard or the pool is an argument. Between $350 and $460.
Le Gardeur: new builds and large lots
Le Gardeur mixes recent developments and larger lots towards the north. New houses are photographed like in Terrebonne-Ouest: kitchen, yard, basement, garage, drone for the neighbourhood. The larger lots call for the aerial photo for size and clearance.
Charlemagne: the small market
Charlemagne is a small, dense town with older houses and a few plexes. Sessions there are short and efficient: bungalow or cottage, 30 to 35 photos, a 2D plan if the basement is finished. Same free zone, same turnaround.
The drone in Repentigny
Repentigny lies outside the controlled airspace of the major airports, which makes flights easy in most areas, including on the riverfront. Our pilot holds Transport Canada's advanced certificate and checks the airspace for every address. In bad weather, the drone portion is rescheduled at no charge.
The calendar and the seasons
On waterfront properties the season is decisive: a frozen river and a snowy deck do not tell the same story as a dock in July. If the listing is planned for winter, shoot the exteriors in the fall. Our winter photography guide explains the strategy.
